More Celebrity News ►► treats the Coachella crowd to a nostalgic Destiny’s Child reunion.
If that wasn’t enough, Beyonce made history and turned Coachella in to #Beychella.
After cancelling her Coachella set last year due to her pregnancy, Queen Bey has finally made her artful mark on Coachella. For her first live performance since giving birth to twins Rumi and Sir Carter, Beyonce masterminded a spectacle worth waiting for. She performed an effortless two hour set that included skyscraping bleachers, hundreds of backup dancers, and her own personal marching band and orchestra. Beyonce made sure to let the crowd know about her history making performance- she is the first black woman ever to headline Coachella. To celebrate Bey gifted us with the Destiny’s Child reunion of our dreams. When three silhouettes emerged from the stage like Charlie’s Angels, it could only mean one thing- Kelly and Michelle are back.
The trio performed a mashup of “Lose My Breath”, “Say My Name”, and “Soldier” wearing matching ensembles that melted our 90’s hearts. The ladies sang remixed versions of their hits with impeccable choreo and perfectly timed dance breaks. All as if their chemistry had never faltered.
It’s safe to say for Beyonce standards, this performance went above and BEYond. She also surprised the crowd with cameos from Jay Z and her sister Solange. Bey and Jay teased their upcoming On The Run II tour performing “Deja Vu”, and Solange stopped by to perform their co-written hit “Get Me Bodied”.
It’s no surprise the hashtag #Beychella has taken over the weekend. And Beyonce barely broke a sweat. It’s safe to say Beyonce just set a new standard for Coachella, and for herself.
